Description
Thoth was a multi-faceted, truly ancient deity. He was associated with the moon, with the recording of time and kings’ reigns, with the creation of written language, and was the patron deity of scribes.
This Late Period amulet of the god was discovered in the ancient city of Memphis, and is of a beautifully ornate construction. In his hands, he holds a wadjet-eye – or Eye of Horus – as a symbol of rebirth and protection.
And now you can show off your Egyptology geekery by adorning your living room with this gorgeous throw cushion.
These soft, yet hard-wearing, 33 × 48 cm cushions are made from faux suede and each one is individually cut and sewn by hand. The design is printed on the front, with a stone-colour back.
The amulet featured in this photo is just 6 cm tall and was the flagship image for the Garstang Museum of Archaeology’s Creatures of the Nile exhibition. It’s been photographed using a macro lens and carefully lit to bring out the detail and texture. The finished image is, in fact, a composite created from 180 individual photographs.

These cushions are handmade from soft, luxurious faux suede, and each one is made to order, usually dispatched within 3–5 days. This means that resources are used only as and when needed.
Cushions are produced and dispatched from either the UK or the US, depending on where they’re being delivered, reducing the environmental impact and cost of delivery. They’re delivered in a tough, tear-resistant, mailing bag featuring a bubble-interior for added protection.
Please note that computer monitors and mobile devices can show colours in slightly different ways and intensities. If the colours on your cushion don’t look quite the same as how they look on your screen, this is why. However, if there’s an obvious problem with print quality, please get let me know so I can organise a replacement.

When your order arrives, if the colours on your product don’t look quite the same as how they look on your screen, please remember that computer monitors and mobile devices can show colours in slightly different ways and intensities. However, if there’s an obvious problem with print quality – or your product arrives damaged – please let me know, along with some photos, so I can organise a replacement.
If delivery is significantly delayed (excluding longer delivery times during busy periods or times of strike action), please let me know so we can come up with a solution.
If, when you receive your order, you change your mind, you can return it within 14 days of delivery for a refund or store credit. Just drop me an email if this is the case. Please remember, however, that I am one person, and that I don’t have the financial cushion that large retailers do to be able to offset the cost of returns for the sake of, e.g., trying different sizes or designs.
