Description
Ancient Egypt treats us to a wonderful and fascinating pantheon of deities, and you can’t get much more recognisable than the sun god and the god of the underworld.
Featuring a a detail from from an ancient Egyptian stela belonging to Isis, priestess of Amun and daughter of king Ramesses VI and queen Nub-Khesdeb, this ceramic mug shows a detail of the gods Re-Horakhty and Osiris.
The stela has been lit to emphasise the two opposing lives of the deities.
Looking toward the light, the sun god Re-Horakhty (Re, who is Horus of the Two Horizons) holds the royal crook and flail, along with a composite staff featuring the was-sceptre, the ankh and the djed-pillar, making his royalty and power clear.
Facing away, looking into the darkness of his empire is Osiris, ruler of the underworld, also holding the royal crook and flail, and wearing the atef-crown – the white crown of Upper Egypt, with ostrich feathers on either side.
Separating the two gods are cartouches containing the names of Ramesses VI.

Your mug is an 11oz ceramic mug, a standard size for your tea, coffee or hot chocolate. It is both microwave- and dishwasher-safe.
Each mug is printed to order, meaning resources are used only as and when needed, and are mailed in 100% plastic-free, recyclable packaging.
Your mug will be produced in either the UK or USA, depending on where you’re ordering from, and dispatched within 3–5 days. Delivery time will depend upon where you are in the world, but should take anywhere from a couple of days to a couple of weeks. Please bear in mind that these are average times, and delivery during busy periods could take longer.

When your order arrives, if the colours on your product don’t look quite the same as how they look on your screen, please remember that computer monitors and mobile devices can show colours in slightly different ways and intensities. However, if there’s an obvious problem with print quality – or your product arrives damaged – please let me know, along with some photos, so I can organise a replacement.
If delivery is significantly delayed (excluding longer delivery times during busy periods or times of strike action), please let me know so we can come up with a solution.
If, when you receive your order, you change your mind, you can return it within 14 days of delivery for a refund or store credit. Just drop me an email if this is the case. Please remember, however, that I am one person, and that I don’t have the financial cushion that large retailers do to be able to offset the cost of returns for the sake of, e.g., trying different sizes or designs.
